Healthy Oats Idli is low in carbs and ideal for those who are calorie-conscious. Oats give this dish high nutritive value with delicious taste. This easy and quick recipe is ideal for breakfast and brunch at home. So now lets come on the recipe:-

Total time: 30-40min
Serving: 5-6 persons

INGREDIENTS FOR HEALTHY OATS IDLI:-
2 big cups oats
1 big cup curd/yogurt(Dahi)
1 tbsp mustard seeds (rai)
2 tbsp urad dal
1 tbsp channa dal
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp green chilies (finely chopped)
2 tbsp coriander (dhania)
1/ turmeric powder (Haldi)
salt as your requirement
1 tsp Maggi masala (optional)

HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY OATS IDLI:-


  1. firstly on a dry roast, the oats on a Tawa, turn it slightly brown and then powder these oats in a grinder.
  2. Then in the same pan, add oil, allow the mustard seeds(rai)to splutter or make noise then add green chilies, grated carrots, urad dal, and channa dal to make it golden brown.
  3. To this, add turmeric powder(Haldi) and fry for a minute.
  4. Add this mixture to the powdered oats with the curd adding to it to make its consistency neither thick nor thin but please do not add water to this mixture.
  5. Now grease the idli steamer plates or microwave idli plates with oil and pour the batter on it and steam it for 10-15 min.
  6. Check the idli by poking idli with the knife and if the idli doesn't stick on the knife then your idli is totally ready.
  7. Remove the idli into a plate and serve it with any sauce or chutney or with sambhar.
